Our Team

Kaitlyn Long

Kaitlyn is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education, with minors in Psychology and English. A native of Apex, she is a product of Wake County Public Schools and has grown up being led by devoted educators in her family and schools. It is here that she discovered her love both for learning and teaching. Kaitlyn has always felt God calling her into education, and is in awe of the doors He has continually opened to steer her career path in a direction she is truly passionate about.

While living in Wilmington, Kaitlyn served with Port City Community Church’s middle school ministry as a small group leader and intern. God used this experience to guide her towards ministry and to foster a desire to combine her love for Jesus with the gift for teaching that He has given her. She is excited to join HLA, and for the opportunity to invite Jesus into her classroom on a daily basis!

When she is not teaching, Kaitlyn enjoys reading, practicing calligraphy and creating digital art.
