Thank you for your interest in Heritage Leadership Academy. Admissions for the 2026–2027 academic year are now closed.
If you have questions about potential openings in specific grade levels, please contact our Admissions Office at admissions@heritageacademy-nc.org.
Admissions for the 2027–2028 academic year will reopen in September. We appreciate your interest in our school community and look forward to meeting your family during the next admissions cycle.
We ask at least one parent, preferably the parent who will be the primary teacher at home, to attend an interest meeting before applying. Interest meetings are held each month and typically last an hour.
If you are unable to attend in-person, please fill out this form to request an interest meeting video.
Please allow at least 30 minutes to complete as applications cannot be saved and retrieved at a later time. You will be asked to upload a recent photo of your student as well as any supporting documents, including a recent report card or standardized test report, IEPs and psychological evaluations (if applicable). A $75 non-refundable application fee is also required at the time of online submission.
. Initial Application Review & Selection for Testing
Our admissions team will carefully review all completed applications and select an initial group of applicants to move forward in the process.
Families selected at this stage will receive notification and a link to submit an additional $150 fee.
Upon receiving this payment, we will schedule the student for admissions testing.
This approach allows us to schedule an appropriate number of students based on available roster and waitlist spaces.
A kindergarten readiness assessment will be given to rising kindergarteners while students in grades 1-12 will complete a Woodcock Johnson IV assessment. Student assessments are used to help support grade placement as requested by the parent and to establish a baseline level of skill to prepare students for success at HLA. Additional details and scheduling options will be provided once your application is processed.
Once testing had been completed, administration will be in contact to schedule a family meeting. This family meeting is an important component to the admissions process. We ask that both parents and the child(ren) for which you are applying attend this meeting. Other siblings are also welcome to attend. Please allow 30-45 minutes to meet with administration.
HLA’s admissions team will render admissions decisions in batches with the first round of decisions announced on March 2. Families will be notified via email and if accepted, a $300 enrollment fee will be due within 10 days to secure a spot.
*Please note that enrollment is not on a first come basis and is at the sole discretion of HLA’s admissions team. HLA looks at a variety of factors when making admissions decisions to create the optimal learning environment. These factors are also considered when extending an acceptance to families placed on our waitlist.
