April Coats

April feels blessed to be part of the HLA community with the opportunity to serve Jesus as a second-grade teacher. Originally from Ohio, she moved to Virginia to attend Regent University, where she met her husband, David. After teaching in the Virginia Public School System as a Special Education Teacher and a Reading Specialist for over 20 years, her family relocated to North Carolina to be closer to her husband’s family. When April is not teaching her three children or in the classroom, she’s on the soccer field cheering for her kids.
