Ioana Sherman

Ioana is excited to bring her passion and love for children and education to HLA. Originally from Romania, Ioana grew up in Southern California, where she developed her love for teaching. Now thriving in the beauty and hospitality of the South, she has made a significant impact in her community through her dedication to education. Ioana holds a BA in Music with an emphasis on Education, a Master’s in Musicology, and is a Fulbright recipient. With over 25 years of experience, Ioana has substituted in inner-city schools, taught private music lessons, and operated a vibrant music school for over a decade in Chapel Hill, NC. As a homeschool teacher and now co-teacher to her sons at HLA for the past three years, Ioana invests in nurturing young minds and teaching the whole student. Beyond the classroom, Ioana enjoys exploring the outdoors with her boys, fostering relationships, and serving on the worship team at her local church, Chatham Community Church. Ioana looks forward with anticipation and gratitude to being part of the wonderful team at HLA.
